1st Annual RedNation of the Cherokee West Virginia Intertribal Pow Wow

The RedNation of the Cherokee presents the "Prairie Fire" Pow Wow. A Revival of Spirituality for the Nations

Children Program Friday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm (We need as many vendors as possible to be set up and doing some of their crafts to show the children and talk about what it is you do.) There will be a Trade Blanket at 8:00 pm on Friday at the drum arbor.

Friday: 10:00 am- 5:00pm. Saturday: 11:00 am- 9:00 pm; Sunday : Closing of Powwow and Retiring of Flags at 5:00 pm. Grand Entry at 12:00 noon both days.

This is an INTERTRIBAL Pow Wow and everyone is welcome. We will try our best to respect and honor everyone's customs in the dance ring. All dancers* are welcome and we hope a lot will show up.

Host Drum: Pejuta Mato (Bear Medicine) - Northern Plains Drum Group from Wichita Kansas; Guest Performance: International Country Western singer Becky Hobbs;   Other drums welcome to play for "Blanket" money.

Head Man: TBA. Head Lady: TBA. Arena Director: SpiritHorse of OTNA in Hurricane, WV. MC: Marty "Soaring Eagle" Martin - Principal Chief of the Cherokee Tribe of Kentucky - from Louisville, KY. Traditional Gourd dancers from various states.

There will be a camp feed on Saturday night after the Pow Wow closes.

This is an Alcohol, Drug and Fire Arm free event - ZERO TOLERANCE!!

Camping is available at NO extra cost to the vendors and members of their party. There will be Primitive and Non Primitive Camping available.

Directions:
45 miles west of Charleston, West Virginia. Take Interstate 64 west to US 60 /Exit 18 toward WV-2 / BARBOURSVILLE.

From Huntington, WV go east on Interstate 64 to Exit 18. Turn Right off the Exit until you reach RT. 60. Turn Right at the red light and go about one block (just after you pass under the railroad bridge) make a Left and go to the red light. Make a Left to the Next Redlight and make a Right. The Road has a couple of curves in it and after you go under another underpass - go about 2 blocks to the Stop sign and make a Left. Go to next Stop sign and make a Right. The Entrance to the Park is on the Right about 3 blocks from the Stop Sign. Follow the road in the Park all the way to the lake (there will be signs posted pointing the way to the Pow Wow grounds).

Vendor set up fee is $40.00 per vendor space. Half is due when you send in your vendor application and contract. Vendors with Tipis receive a 50% discount on their spaces (we'd like to see several in the field). Every effort will be made to provide electricity and water for the vendors.
